At the working session, Minister Ts.Tsogzolmaa reported results achieved after implementing an agreement on education cooperation between Vietnam and Mongolia. According to the agreement, each year 15 Mongolian students will be sent to Vietnam to study and the country will receive five Vietnamese students.

In terms of scholarships for student, Ms. Ts.Tsogzolmaa said that according to the minutes of the 16th session of the Intergovernmental Committee held in Ulan Bator in August 2017, from 2018, Mongolia will increase scholarship for Vietnamese students studying in Mongolia to USD150/month. From 2018 to 2020, the country will also increase the criteria of scholarship for Vietnamese students to study in Mongolia.

She suggested that the two countries regularly exchange delegations at all levels to share experiences in education and training. In addition, she also wanted to appoint teachers in the field of information technology to Vietnam to study.

At the meeting, the Vietnamese Ambassador proposed that Mongolia’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports open a Vietnamese class at High School No.14 named after President Ho Chi Minh in Ulan Bator to teach Vietnamese language for children of the Vietnamese community in Mongolia and Mongolian students before going to Vietnam to study.

In term of targets of the number of students, Ambassador Huong said that this problem should be paid attention.

Through the Vietnamese Embassy, the cooperation between Mongolia’s provinces with Vietnam’s localities has been expanded. Many Mongolia’s provinces want to send their students to Vietnam to study. She suggested the minister to give priority to allocate the target scholarships to study in Vietnam to provinces, which have close cooperation with Vietnam such as Gobi, Khuvsgul and Tuv. This not only creates human resources but also contributes to promote economic and cultural cooperation between the provinces with Vietnamese more effectively.

In terms of scientific and technological cooperation, the Vietnamese Ambassador said that after the meeting of the Vietnam - Mongolia sub-committee on scientific and technological cooperation held in June 2016, the two sides have called upon cooperation and received the research project on effect of national remedies of Vietnam and Mongolia.
