The effort is part of the emergency support program of the Khmer-Vietnam Association and assisted by the Vietnam Business Club in Cambodia (VBCC), the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia, and a number of agencies and benefactors in Vietnam.

Mr. Sim Chy, Chairman of the Khmer-Vietnam Association, said that after the local health ministry informed it of the COVID-19 situation in Cambodia, it asked Vietnamese-Cambodian people to take preventive measures. No cases of infection have been reported in the community, he added.

The association is presenting 200 relief gifts to the most disadvantaged on April 14th and 15tj, which include rice, face masks, hand sanitisers, and cash, to celebrate Chol Chnam Thmey festival - the Khmer New Year festival.

Over the past month, the association, along with the Vietnamese General Consulates in Sihanoukville and Battambang, has carried out a series of support activities for needy people in Cambodia./.
