Requiem for President Tran Dai Quang held in Laos

Hundreds of monks, Buddhists and overseas Vietnamese in Vientiane participated in a requiem to commemorate President Tran Dai Quang at Phat Tich pagoda in Vientiane, Laos, on September 23rd.

At the ceremony, Venerable Thich Minh Quang from Phat Tich pagoda, said that every year President Tran Dai Quang sent a letter of congratulations to Vietnamese children at home and abroad on the occasion of the Mid-autumn festival.

His letter this year showed the special attention of President Tran Dai Quang for the young generation.

Venerable Thich Minh Quang affirmed that President Tran Dai Quang passed away, leaving sentiment and infinite grief among monks, Buddhists and the overseas Vietnamese community in Laos.

In the solemn atmosphere, the monks and Buddhists of Laos and Vietnam, and the Vietnamese community in Vientiane, prayed for the salvation of President Tran Dai Quang’s soul.

After the requiem, Phat Tich pagoda presented 350 gifts to Lao students affected by the Xe Pian - Xe Namnoy hydropower dam collapse in Attapeu province, Laos./.
