Requiem in Hungary for heroic martyrs for homeland’s sea and islands

The Vietnamese Buddhist Association in Hungary held a requiem to pray for heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the fight for protection of national sovereignty over the sea and islands, including martyrs on Gac Ma Island in 1988 in Budapest on March 24th.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Trinh Tuan Anh, representative of the organizing board, reiterated the main developments of the Gac Ma Battle in 1988, emphasizing the bravery and courage of the 64 soldiers, who fought to the end to protect the sacred sovereignty of the motherland.

He affirmed that the organization of the requiem was a meaningful activity of the community to express gratitude and respect for the great sacrifices of the soldiers for the sea and islands of Vietnam.

At the ceremony, the participants respectfully performed Buddhist rituals to pray for the salvation of the martyr’s souls./.
