Each Vietnamese employee in the Republic of Korea (RoK) is being supplied 10 medical face masks free of charge to use for two weeks while COVID-19 pandemic is spreading widely.

The information was released by the Vietnam News Agency correspondent in RoK.
The policy is applied for all Vietnamese workers, including illegal employees or those who don’t buy health insurance in RoK. Accordingly, Vietnamese workers can go to the nearest centre supporting employees to receive medical face masks of the RoK’s Ministry of Employee and Labor.
In addition, Vietnamese employees are also granted work-off allowances during the 14-day self-isolation period. During this time, if employees cannot extend their residence permit, they will not be penalized.
After treatment for COVID-19 or completing their quarantine period, Vietnamese workers can go to RoK’s Immigration Department to apply for an extension.
However, during the quarantine period to prevent the spread of the pandemic, if workers leave a designated quarantine area without permission, they will be severely penalized, have their visa cancelled and possibly be deported back home./.
