SVUK Leader Camp 2018 for Vietnamese students in UK

The executive board of the Vietnamese Student Association in the United Kingdom (SVUK) from 2014 to now has always marked the debut of a new tenure by organizing a Leader Camp training program for leaders of the Vietnamese Student Societies (VietSoc) across the UK.

The activity practically contributes to common efforts in order to intensify connection, exchange and mutual support among Vietnamese students in the UK.

Program “SVUK Leader Camp 2018” themed “Solidarity” has just been organized at the University of London, the executive board of SVUK for the 2017-2018 tenure hoped to focus on strengthening the organization of VietSoc, attracting active participation and contribution to building the community of over 12,000 Vietnamese students in the UK.

Ngo Nam Son, Chairman of the SVUK for the 2017-2018 tenure, said that “Solidarity”, “Support” and “Development” will be themes for SVUK’s activities in 2018, aiming to create unity and connection within VietSoc across in the UK.

SVUK Leader Camp 2018 was participated in by more than 50 students, who are leaders and outstanding students from 45 VietSoc.

Apart from exchanging and sharing experiences in leading and launching movements among young leaders of VietSoc, the program also had the participation of speakers from the Vietnamese Embassy and former Vietnamese Students from young Vietnamese intellectual Association in the UK (VietPro) and Viet Start-up London.

Sean Pham, a member of Viet Start-up London and former chairman of VietSoc of University of Oxford, hoped to share his experiences with the program in connecting and supporting each other in start-up and job orientation after graduation. He also advised that apart from studying, the students should spend time participating in activities to build and expand their society network. This is a prerequisite condition to be supported from friends when they graduate to seek a job and do business.

Through Leader Camp 2018, the executive board of SVUK hoped to further promote the movements of Vietnamese students in the UK./.
