Recently, the club held its 2nd congress in the capital Berlin, with the presence of Ambassador Nguyen Minh Vu.

Speaking at the congress, Ambassador Nguyen Minh Vu expressed his pleasure at, and highly appreciated the efforts and enthusiastic, meaningful and practical activities of the club for soldiers on duty and people on Truong Sa archipelago, thereby contributing to communication and protection of the country’s sacred sovereignty over the sea and islands.

He also gave some ideas for the operation direction of the club in the coming time, especially strengthening further communication to younger generations about patriotism for the nation; promoting communication and dissemination to German and international friends about Vietnam's sovereignty over the sea and islands, thereby helping them better understand Truong Sa and Hoang Sa archipelagoes.

Besides, Ambassador Vu also expressed his wish that the executive board of Truong Sa Club will continue to have more activities, attracting more participation and contributions of overseas Vietnamese people, organizations, businesses and associations in Germany to support the soldiers and people living on Vietnam’s islands.

On behalf of the Truong Sa Club, Bui Thu Minh, Chairwoman of the club, thanked Ambassador  Vu for his specific suggestions. She said that to prepare to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Vietnam-Germany diplomatic relations, the club will coordinate with the Vietnamese Student Association in Germany to organize a photo exhibition on Truong Sa in the framework of the Student Summer Camp 2020, to disseminate information about the situation of Vietnam’s sea and islands to Vietnamese students as well as German and international students.

In addition, the club will continue to raise funds and present practical gifts to soldiers and people living on the archipelago.

The congress elected a new 6-member Executive Board and Ms. Bui Thu Minh was re-voted for the 2nd term.

The Truong Sa Club was established on April 23rd, 2017 with 11 members. It now has nearly 40 members, including those who haven’t been on Truong Sa./.
