Vietjet Air repatriates nearly 230 Vietnamese citizens from Japan

Nearly 230 Vietnamese citizens were repatriated safely on a flight conducted by Vietjet Air on September 22.

The flight was conducted by Vietnamese authorities, the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan and related agencies of the host country.

The passengers included children under 18 years old, the elderly, pregnant women, and people suffering underlying health illnesses, students without accommodation due to the closure of their dormitories, stranded tourists, guest workers with expired labour contracts, and others facing a number of challenging circumstances.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Japan sent staff to the airport to assist citizens to dealt with procedures before boarding the plane.

Pandemic prevention measures were strictly carried out during the journey to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Upon landing at Da Nang International Airport, all crew members and passengers underwent heath checkups and were immediately put in quarantine sites in line with regulations.

More repatriation flights will be arranged to bring home Vietnamese citizens in the coming time depending on their demand and the quarantine capacity at home./.
