This is the first time Vietnam has participated in the festival, especially significant as 2018 marks the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Qatar, and it is part of a series of cultural exchanges between the two countries.
In the framework of the festival, the spouse of the Vietnamese Ambassador to Qatar invited Qatari guests and spouses of diplomatic missions and overseas Vietnamese to attend "Live Cooking" program, performance and instruction to cook Vietnamese dishes with live performances by Vietnamese American chef Christine Ha and experienced chefs from Vietnam, to introduce and promote Vietnam to international friends.

Moreover, Christine Ha also spent time to answer interviews of newspapers to promote the Vietnamese cuisine to local people in order to boost cultural exchanges between peoples of the two countries.
After the first days of the event, Vietnam’s booth is highly appreciated by the public and organizing board, and is chosen as one of seven booths to be necessary to visit at QIFF 2018.
