Vietnam cuisine month held in Japan’s Fukuoka

Vietnam cuisine month is organized by the Consulate General of Vietnam in Fukuoka, Japan and Nikko Fukuoka Hotel on September 1st - 30th.

The event has attracted over 3,000 visitors. During the preparation process, the Consulate General of Vietnam has supported the hotel with program, menu, music and gifts in order to introduce the traditional cuisine of Vietnam.

In spite of taking one month, almost each day Vietnam Fair restaurant is fully booked. The diners have enjoyed dishes of three regions of Vietnam such as spring rolls, noodle soup, bloating fern-shaped cake, Vietnam’s tropical fruits and desserts such as floating rice cake, glutinous rice dumplings in sweet soup and many kinds of sweetened porridge.

In the cuisine month, the Consulate General of Vietnam has cooperated and supported Nikko Fukuoka Hotel to organize a workshop on Vietnamese cuisine, attracting nearly 50 delegates, including food experts and chefs from some hotels

and those who have lived and done business in Vietnam. During the program, NHK - Fuluoka Japanese Television Station recorded and broadcast throughout the Kyushu - Okinawa region with 13 million viewers.

Through the activity, Japanese people have more opportunities to understand more about the country, people and culture of Vietnam, especially the diverse cuisine culture of many regions across the country./.
