At the event, the Vietnamese Embassy opened a book collection about Vietnam, introducing Vietnamese cuisine, displaying photos about the culture and people of Vietnam, especially introducing a photo collection taken by an Egyptian official in Vietnam during his previous travel.

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador Do Hoang Long said that this was one of the activities marking the 55th anniversary of Vietnam – Egypt diplomatic relations. It was organized in Ismailia because the province has great economic potential, especially in agriculture, and the people in the locality haven’t had access to information about Vietnam.

On this occasion, the Vietnamese Embassy opened a reading-room at the library to help the local people access more information about Vietnam. The Ambassador hoped that after the event, similar events would be launched in other provinces of Egypt, thus more information about Vietnam would be transferred to the Egyptian public. Accordingly, cooperation activities in fields of economy and trade will be more developed.

At the event, Mr. Yassin Taher, Head of Ismailia province, said that he hoped that in the coming time, Egypt and Vietnam relations continue to be promoted in all fields, especially investment. The Vietnam Cultural Day help him and the local people better understand Vietnam, especially its development achievements and investment attraction. He also promised that he would make efforts to promote cultural cooperation between the two sides.

At the event, Ambassador Long suggested to organize twinning between provinces and cities such as Hanoi and Cairo cities, Ninh Binh and Luxor provinces, in the coming time./.
