Vietnam Day with future diplomats held in Russia

The 4th Vietnam Day themed “Youth in the 21st century” was organized at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) in Moscow on April 5th.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Egor Andreev, representative of MGIMO, affirmed that Vietnam Day has become a helpful and practical playground for students studying Vietnamese language and culture, as well as expanding exchanges among young people from Vietnam and Russia.

He added that over the past 60 years, 327 Vietnamese students have graduated from MGIMO and many of them have become high-ranking leaders, ambassadors and prestigious diplomats of Vietnam.

Future Russian diplomats have opportunities to practice at Vietnamese university and it contributes to human resource training, preparing for political, cultural and economic relations between Russia and Vietnam.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Thu, representative from the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia, said that the international relations have been always built from the young generation, therefore, the theme of Vietnam Day 2018 brings practical significance.

In the framework of Vietnam Day 2018, a round-table conference themed “Role and capacity of youth in consolidation of Russia - Vietnam relations” was also organized.

Ms. Svetlana Glazunova, lecturer teaching Vietnamese language, said that souvenirs, handicrafts, dishes, dances and songs displayed and performed at Vietnam Day helped her much in imparting knowledge and creating inspiration of study and learning about the nation./.
