Vietnam joins 11th international charity bazaar in Beijing

The Vietnamese embassy in China participated in the 11th International Charity Bazaar organized by China’s Foreign Ministry, Beijing administration and China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation (CFPA) in Beijing on October 27th.

Over 150 diplomatic representative agencies and international organizations participated in the event.

Vietnam’s stall attracted a lot of visitors with traditional dishes and it was honoured as the one with the best style at the event by China’s Foreign Ministry.

The bazaar aimed to raise funds for the building and repair of sports grounds in schools in Jinping and Malipo districts, the southwestern province of Yunnan.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Qian Wei, spouse of Chinese State Counsellor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, said the annual bazaar has offered support to the poor and the disabled in Yunnan, Guangxi, Guizhou, Henan and Gansu provinces over the past decade.

In addition, the bazaar is also a place for foreigners in China to exchange, and promote the land, people, handicrafts and cuisine culture of their countries.

According to China’s Foreign Ministry, the bazaar collected over 7.1 million CNY (nearly 1 million USD) for charity activities./.
