Vietnam joins annual international bazaar in Indonesia

The 51st annual international bazaar was organized by the Women's International Club Jakarta (WIC) on November 14th and 15th in Jakarta.

The bazaar has 53 kiosks of embassies and 230 commercial and food kiosks of Indonesia.

The Vietnam's kiosk included traditional handicraft products such as souvenirs, silk products, handmade embroidered pictures of national landscapes, and ceramic statues and jewelry made from wood and stone.

Particularly, Vietnam’s spring roll and coffee have been bought by many visitors because they are well known for many years through the bazaars.

During the event, Indonesia also introduces a special art cultural program of Yogyakarta region, as well as art programs of embassies.

Speaking at the bazaar, Ms. Mudifah Jusuf Kalla, spouse of Deputy President of Indonesia, emphasized that this is an opportunity to raise funds to support social activities, promoting education and contributing to improving social life in the region.

Founded in 1950, WIC is a non-profit social organization consisting of 60% Indonesian members and 40% foreigners. Its motto is through charitable activities to promote friendship among women with different nationalities in Indonesia, benefiting those in need.

Currently, WIC’s programs are supporting 13 social organizations, including centres taking care the elderly, physiotherapy centers to support language therapists, nurses and teachers to treat people with autism.

Part of the funds are also disbursed to other humanitarian projects, such as cardiac surgery, repair of buildings, provision of teaching aids, tables and chairs for schools and medical equipment for hospitals./.
