Vietnam joins international charity bazaar in Egypt

The Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt participated in an international charity bazaar held by the Diplomats' Spouses Association (ADSA) in Cairo on November 16th to raise funds for poor local women and children.

Apart from Vietnam, the event this year was attended by many Asian countries such as Brunei, Cambodia, India, the Republic of Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, the Philippines, Thailand and China.

Ms. Priscila Confiado, ADSA President and spouse of the Filipino Ambassador to Egypt, highly appreciated Vietnam’s support and participation in charity activities in Egypt.

According to her, this was a good chance for Asian countries and Vietnam to introduce their culture and cuisine to Egyptian people.

At the bazaar, various traditional cultural and handicraft products, publications and dishes of Vietnam were introduced to Egyptian and international friends.

Ms. Nguyen Thanh Nga, spouse of the Vietnamese Ambassador to Egypt, said that Vietnam’s participation at the event aims to contribute to ease difficulties of poor people in the country, as well as promoting Vietnam’s image and fostering friendship with other diplomatic missions in Egypt.

At the event, Ms. Lilianne Boutros, an Egyptian tourist, shared that Vietnam is a lovely country. She loves traditional cultural products of Vietnam, and is looking forward to visiting Vietnam in the near future so she can experience more Vietnamese cultural and culinary features.

And Mr. Pavel, a Russian tourist, was impressed by the friendliness of Vietnamese people. He also desires to have more opportunities to learn about Vietnam's traditional culture.

Vietnam’s active participation in the fair has sent to its international friends the image of a country of hospitality, sharing and mutual spirit./.
