This was one of the events to welcome the New Year organized annually by the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO).

The organizing board said that this fair had about 20 kiosks of countries, including many from Southeast Asia such as Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines.

The fair not only created conditions for countries to introduce their traditional cultures and specific products, but it also contributed to making the multi-faceted culture of Macau Special Administrative Region more diversified. It also helps the countries participating in the fair boost economic, trade and cultural exchange.

Mr. Nguyen Duy Kien, Deputy Consul-General in charge of Economic-Commercial Affairs at the Consulate General of Vietnam in Hong Kong and Macau, said that this is the first time the Consulate General of Vietnam in Hong Kong and Macau and the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Macau have a kiosk in the New Year Fair in Macau, to introduce the image and typical products of Vietnam such as coffee and green bean cake to local and international friends.

In addition, Vietnam’s kiosk also introduced traditional Vietnamese dishes such as spring rolls and “Chung” cake. It attracted special attention from Macau residents, as well as international visitors at the fair.

The fair attracted about 50,000 visitors, an increase of 10% compared to the previous year./.
