Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year marked in Malaysia

At the event, Vietnamese Ambassador Le Quy Quynh and Lao Ambassador Houmdaophone Soukhaseum reviewed the milestones in the comprehensive and special cooperation between the two countries.

The two Ambassadors said that the special relationship is a valuable asset built and fostered by generations of leaders and people in both countries. Current and future generations are responsible for preserving and promoting the relationship.

They also emphasized that officials and staff of the Vietnamese and Lao Embassies in Malaysia will strive hard and strengthen cooperation in work, contributing to building the special friendship between the two countries.

During the event, the delegates enjoyed an art program performed by Suc Song Tre band from Ho Chi Minh city, Lao Embassy staff and Vietnamese children from the Vietnamese community.

On the same day, the Vietnamese Embassy organized a Mid-Autumn Festival for Vietnamese children.

Also in September, the Vietnamese and Lao embassies in Malaysia organized a sports and cultural exchange to celebrate the 55^th anniversary of the two countries' diplomatic relations (September 5^th) and 40 years since the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty on Amity and Cooperation (July 18^th).

In addition, the two sides often hold other activities to strengthen the cooperation relations, as well as contributing to making the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos more cohesive./.
