Commercial Counsellor of the Vietnamese Embassy in Italy Nguyen Duc Thanh said that with the participation of more than 3,000 businesses from more than 110 countries in the world, the event is an opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to grasp the demands of the market, promote their products, expand customer networks and gain experience for production and improving design, thereby creating products with high value, quality and aesthetics, meeting the tastes of Italian, European and international consumers.

According to him, the Trade Department in particular and the Vietnamese Embassy in Italy in general are ready to support and connect Vietnamese businesses with Italian and European businesses to strengthen the cooperation and trade exchange.

The relationship between Vietnam and Italy has been developing for over 40 years, since the two countries established diplomatic relations on March 23rd, 1973.

With many products displayed on an area of nearly 1,500m2, apart from the promotion of diverse and well-known handicrafts such as textiles, rattan and bamboo products, paintings, brocade, lacquer, agricultural and gift products, businesses have also helped bring the image of a beautiful, friendly and open country of Vietnam to international friends.

In addition, Vietnam’s cuisine area with traditional dishes is also one of the attractions for visitors to the fair.

The exhibition is the largest annual international handicraft fair in the world and was first held in 1996. The exhibition this year takes place on December 2nd - 10th.

The participation in the exhibition of Vietnamese businesses will contribute to growing the trade revenue between Vietnam and Italy. The bilateral trade revenue has increased from USD1.13 billion in 2006 to more than USD4.7 billion in 2016, and in the first ten months of 2017, it reaches USD3.76 billion./.
