Speaking at the exhibition, Vietnamese Ambassador to South Africa Vu Van Dung emphasized that together with political and economic diplomacy, cultural diplomacy is also actively implemented by the embassy, to contribute to promoting Vietnam to local people.

Through the exhibition, the embassy wished to further introduce to international and South African friends the landscape, country and people of Vietnam, with the rich beauty of its regions; and hoped overseas Vietnamese in South Africa would be more attached to the homeland.

Previously, at the Africa - ASEAN Business Expo 2017 (AABE-2017) held in Johannesburg city on November 6th-8th, the Embassy also introduced Vietnamese landscape paintings by painter Nguyen Minh Son to many businesses and visitors attending the expo.

The painter thanked the Vietnamese Embassy for supporting the exhibition to realize his dreams to bring Vietnam’s images to international friends and the overseas Vietnamese community.

He said that the paintings of the beauty of Ha Long bay, West lake, Hoi An city and the Mekong Delta will be an invitation for international friends to travel and contemplate the beautiful scenery and hospitable people in all parts of Vietnam.

Mr. Son also presented some paintings to the embassy to decorate and to present to diplomatic guests./.
