Vietnam’s prominent cultural marks at ASEAN + 3 Festival in Cambodia

The Vietnamese Embassy and overseas Vietnamese alumni delegation in Cambodia attended the ASEAN + 3 Festival on the campus of the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) in Phnom Penh on March 11th.

The program was organized by Cambodia’s Ministry of Education, Training, Youth and Sports, and the Royal University of Phnom Penh.

This program contributes to creating a forum with opportunities for students from ASEAN countries and three partner countries of China, Japan and the Republic of Korea studying in Cambodia to exchange and promote the characteristics of their own nations.

At the event, Vietnam’s stall was very prominent and attracted the attention of visitors, with white conical hats and yellow star on traditional long dresses of overseas Vietnamese female students.

It also displayed with Vietnam map designed with the sea and islands of Truong Sa and Hoang Sa, books introducing the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh, Vietnamese celebrities; and publications introducing and promoting Vietnamese tourism.

Many students and youth from Cambodia and countries participating in the festival learnt about and tried the traditional long dress and conical hat of Vietnam, enjoyed traditional dishes and took photos with the national map of Vietnam.

The program also included traditional dance and music performances, folk games, national language teaching, traditional food culture and film screenings of countries and peoples of participating countries.

The Vietnamese delegation performed two special items, including conical hat dance and bamboo dance.

By attending this festival, the Vietnamese Embassy and alumni in the Kingdom of Cambodia wished to contribute to introducing and promoting the unique features of the country, culture and people of Vietnam to friends from countries in the region, contributing to creating understanding, building trust and deepening integration in the region and with partner countries./.
