Vietnam’s traditional culture introduced in Japan’s Fukuoka

An exchange program introducing the socio-cultural life, traditional musical instruments and art of Vietnam was recently organized by the Consulate General of Vietnam in Fukuoka and the administration of the Prefecture at ACROS Fukuoka Prefectural International Hall, in Fukuoka city, Japan.

The program is part of a series of events to mark 10 years since the establishment of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Fukuoka, Japan (2009-2019).

With the theme “A day of experiencing Vietnam”, more than 100 delegates and guests attending the program, enjoying Vietnam’s tea and coffee, watching and learning about Vietnam’s traditional art types such as “hau dong” (going into a trance), Xam singing, “ca tru” and played unique musical instruments, as well as watching and wearing “ao dai” (traditional long dress).        

During the program, there were also exhibition of photos, paintings and ceramics of Vietnamese painters; displaying images and documents about Vietnam and cooperation activities between Vietnam and Kyushu of Japan.

On this occasion, many significant events have been organized by the Consulate General of Vietnam. These events have contributed to further deepening people-to-people exchange of the two countries, as well as creating an overseas Vietnamese community in Kyushu looking strongly toward the homeland.     

In 2009, there were about 660 Vietnamese people in Fukuoka. After the Consulate General of Vietnam was established, the figure now increased to about 14,000 people, of them 6,000 are overseas Vietnamese students./.
