At the ceremony, Mr. Vu Hong Nam, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Head of SCOV, stressed that the Vietnam Summer Camp 2016 was organized to create conditions for the overseas Vietnamese young generation around the world to return to the homeland and learn about landscapes of tangible and intangible natural heritages. Thereby, they may gain a deeper understanding the the country and people, and educate them about the responsibility of overseas Vietnamese youth for the promotion of the culture, history, land and people of Vietnam to the international community.

With the participation of more than 110 overseas Vietnamese youth from 24 countries and territories around the world, the Vietnam Summer Camp this year went through 10 localities across the country.

During the journey, the overseas Vietnamese youth had opportunity to learn about historical and cultural sites, and to experience and witness the changes of Vietnam.
