Vietnamese books displayed in international fair in India

In the framework of the 42nd International Kolkata Book Fair in West Bengal state, India, Vietnam’s book stall has attracted thousands of readers.

Participating in the fair, Vietnam’s book stall introduced over 300 English publications by Vietnamese and Indian authors, and publications by Indian authors translated into Vietnamese language.

These are research works and documents introducing the culture, country and people of Vietnam. The stall also attracted readers with handicraft products and paintings about Vietnamese countryside.

Speaking at the event, Governor of West Bengal state Keshari Nath Tripathi highly appreciated the publications introduced at the fair. He emphasized that India-Vietnam relations are based on values and ideals of peace, development and progress.    

The fair is one of the largest book fairs in the world, attracting over two million book lovers to visit annually.

Besides stalls of India’s states, the fair also included international book stalls of Vietnam, UK, US, Russia, China, Japan, Bangladesh and 11 Latin American nations

The fair lasts from January 31st to February 11th, in which February 2nd was organized as Vietnam Day with an art program performed by artists from the India-Vietnam Solidarity Committee./.
