At the regular press conference held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on February 6th, responding to reporters’ questions about a Vietnamese citizen infected with the new strain of corona virus currently in China, spokeswoman Le Thi Thu Hang said that this person had permanent residence in Dong Nai province before going to China and was confirmed positive for corona virus.

She didn’t publish the name of the citizen out of respect for personal rights.

"The Vietnamese Embassy in China has contacted local authorities to offer positive care and intensive treatment to the patient," said Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang.

"The citizen is being actively treated at Hospital No. 5 in China’s Jiangxi province," she added.

According to Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang, implementing the direction by the Prime Minister, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is proactively and actively coordinating with relevant agencies to be ready to welcome Vietnamese citizens currently in nCov-hit areas back to their homeland when necessary, in accordance with international practices, Vietnamese laws and local laws, and on the basis of their citizens' wishes./.
