Vietnamese community helps Thai flood victims

Minister Counsellor of the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand Pho Hoang Han on February 28th presented THB55,600 to Ms. Priyangsri Watanakul, representative of the Thai Red Cross Society in Bangkok, to support flood victims in Thailand's Southern provinces in recent time.

The Minister Counsellor encouraged the flood victims, who were seriously affected by abnormal floods in early 2017 that caused major damage to people and property, disrupting the lives of millions people.

He affirmed that, with good feelings between the two peoples and responding to the call of the Government of Thailand, the Vietnamese Embassy called upon the Vietnamese community in Thailand to raise funds to support the flood victims.

The gift showed the sentiment and good heart of the Vietnamese community for residents in southern provinces of Thailand, as well as contributing to further promoting the Vietnam - Thailand strategic partnership.

On behalf of the Thai Red Cross Society and the Thai people, Ms. Priyangsri Watanakul expressed appreciation for the precious sentiment and mutual love of Vietnamese people and committed to transfer the gift to the flood victims as soon as possible./
