Speaking at the meeting, Head of the Mutual Support Fellow-Countrymen Association in Macau (China) Tran Thi Thu highlighted the significance of the International Women's Day, feminism and international peace. Women around the world have equal rights to participate in fields of economics, politics, diplomacy, sport and social affairs.
On this occasion, Ms. Tran Thi Thu reviewed the magnanimous history and glorious traditions of Vietnamese women in the history of fighting against foreign invaders, protecting the nation and production to build the country. Good qualities such as undauntedness, resilience in the fight against foreign invaders, hard work and creativity in production, generosity and responsibility in social and family life, are present in every Vietnamese woman.
She also said that in the history of building and protecting the country for thousands of years, Vietnamese women have always played an important role. They not only shoulder the responsibility of preserving the race, producing generations of heroes of a heroic nation, but they also have significantly contributed to protecting and building Vietnam to be more beautiful and prosperous.
In the eyes of international friends, the image of Vietnamese women is always one of gentleness, charm, extraordinary energy, pure soul and great sacrifice for the benefit of the nation and the community.
Ms. Thu expected the Vietnamese community in Macau in general and Vietnamese women living and working in Macau in particular, to promote the fine traditions of Vietnamese women, mutual support to overcome difficulties, and hard work to enrich their families and the country.
At the meeting, the participants had opportunity to join in a flower arrangement contest, and enjoy art performances praising the homeland and good qualities of Vietnamese women./.
