Vietnamese community in Northern Czech Republic jubilantly welcomes New Year 2019

A program “Welcome New Year of the Pig 2019” was organized by the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Teplice city, Ustesky province, North Czech Republic, to look toward the traditional Lunar New Year Festival of Vietnam, preserve and promote the cultural tradition among the Vietnamese community and introduce Vietnam’s cultural values to local people.

The event was attended by the Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Chairman of the Ethnic Minority Council, representatives of 20 foreign ethnic minority groups in Ustecky province, representatives of overseas Vietnamese associations and 700 Vietnamese people in the North Czech Republic.

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Ho Minh Tuan stressed that the event is a significant activity, contributing to preserving and promoting national traditional cultural features. The appearance of the representatives of local leaders and other ethnic minority groups shows the interest and high appreciation for the Vietnamese community during its integration into the local society.

He wished the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic in general and the Vietnamese community in Teplice city in particular to uphold the spirit of solidarity, mutual support and assistance to actively integrate into the local society, especially abiding by local laws to contribute to building a beautiful image of the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic, as well as upholding the spirit towards the homeland, contributing to tightening the relationship between Vietnamese people at home and abroad.

On behalf of the leaders of the Vietnamese community, Mr. Nguyen Duy Nhien - Chairman of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic, highly appreciated the integration of the Vietnamese community in Teplice into the local society, especially contributions of academic achievements and human resources in the fields of health, scientific research and business. This has contributed to making the image of the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic more beautiful.

Mr. Pavel Vodsedalek, Chairman of the Ethnic Minority Council of Ustecky province, said that among all ethnic minority communities, the Vietnamese community is one of the strong and united communities with many activities in the locality, especially maintaining and nurturing Vietnamese traditional cultural values ​​for young Vietnamese generations. He affirmed that the Ustecky provincial administration always facilitates and accompanies the Vietnamese community in the way of integration into local society.

Mr. Ngo Sy Long, Chairman of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Teplice city, said this is the first time an important event of the community was attended by representatives of 20 ethnic minority groups. The Ethnic Minority Council of Ustecky province considers the Vietnamese community a model for other foreign communities to learn about preservation and promotion of traditional cultural values./.
