Vietnamese Consulate General in Shanghai makes best effort to support U23 Vietnam

The Consulate General of Vietnam in Shanghai, China, is making its best effort to support the U23 Vietnam team and Vietnamese football fans before the final match of the AFC U23 Championship China 2018

Right after knowing that the U23 Vietnam team would compete at the final match of the AFC U23 Championship 2018 in Jiangsu, the Consulate General of Vietnam in Shanghai took the initiative in contacting the team and organized a delegation led by Vietnamese Consul General Nguyen Thanh Mai to visit and present gifts to the team in Changzhou city to encourage the footballers.

Ms. Thanh Mai expressed her pleasure as the team has won good results over the past time and is trying to practice to prepare for the final match with the best manner.

She also shared obstacles about severe weather conditions in Changzhou city, where coach Park Hang-Seo and his footballers have experienced over the past days.  The Consul General also encouraged all the team to make effort to overcome difficulties to play the final match with the highest spirit and devote wholeheartedly for the nation, sentiment and fondness of not only football fans, but also Vietnamese people for the team.

The Consulate General of Vietnam has taken initiative in sending diplomatic notes to the Police and Department of Foreign Affairs of Jiangsu province to support and create favourable conditions for reporters, who meet difficulties in visa to update information about the final match between U23 Vietnam and U23 Uzbekistan.

Mr. Pham Trong Tho, Vietnamese Consul to Shanghai, responsible for community affairs and overseas Vietnamese students, said that the Consulate General has asked the young pioneer organization, youth union and Party Committee of overseas Vietnamese students in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai to contact each other to cheer U23 Vietnam. In addition, the Consulate General also partly supports overseas Vietnamese students to hire passenger cars and buy flags and banner rolls to cheer the team.

He also said that fans from Vietnam can contact with the department responsible for community affairs for timely support if they meet any difficulty.

On these days, snow is covering Changzhou city and temperatures are below zero, but with its contribution and support, the Consulate General in Shanghai has warmed the team and fans./.
