The organizing committee said the festival, themed "5 Senses of Vietnam", would awaken the people participating to the colours, smells, tastes, flavours and sounds of traditional Vietnamese culture.

All students participating in the event wore national costumes such as traditional long dresses, Vietnamese silk ensemble or four-panel traditional dress, helping the participants feel a closeness and familiarity with the Vietnamese culture.

The event attracted nearly 300 participants with stalls promoting images of the country and people of Vietnam, and the atmosphere of the Lunar New Year Festival (Tet) with apricot, peach and lotus flowers.

The event included five stalls: charity, traditional long dress, Vietnamese tourism promotion, folk games and Vietnamese cuisine.

The charitable stall sold Vietnamese souvenirs such as brocade bags, greeting cards and bamboo dragonflies, to raise funds for poor children.

The traditional long dress stall performed and introduced the history of the traditional long dress of Vietnam for visitors.

The Vietnam tourism promotion stall helped international visitors learn about Vietnam through puzzles with tea and coffee free of charge.

The folk game stall included drawing masks and palm-leaf conical hats. In addition, visitors also participated in familiar games of childhood such as bamboo jacks, bag jumping and bamboo dancing.

The Vietnamese cuisine stall introduced more than 20 attractive dishes, attracting many visitors. Moreover, the stall also introduced Vietnam’s popular drinks such as coffee and tea.

The festival successfully promoted the image of Vietnamese people and culture to international friends in the Netherlands, and it is also an opportunity for overseas Vietnamese to meet each other and enjoy Vietnamese dishes./.
