"Vietnamese Cultural Night" organized by Vietnamese students in RoK

The Vietnamese Student Branch at Sejong University in the Republic of Korea (RoK) on March 27th held "Vietnam Cultural Night 2017" on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the branch, in the framework of a series of activities celebrating the 25th anniversary of Vietnam - RoK diplomatic relations.

Mr. Le Huy Viet, Head of the Vietnamese Student Branch at Sejong University, said that over the past 10 years, from an initial small number of students, there are now 187 Vietnamese students studying and researching at the university, ranking in second position among the international student communities here.

Vietnamese students are present at all levels of training, especially the top 98 graduate students, including one professor and four doctors.

In addition to academic and research achievements, the branch has had outstanding cultural and sporting activities, which are presented certificates of merit by the Vietnamese Embassy and the Vietnamese Student Association in RoK.

Speaking at the event, Prof. Kim Seong Eok, First Deputy Rector of the university, highly appreciated the achievements and studying and researching capacity of Vietnamese students over the years, and believed that Vietnamese students would continue to achieve more success and make useful contributions to society.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Dung, First Secretary of the Vietnamese Embassy t the RoK, praised the Vietnamese Student Branch at the Sejong University as one of the typical branches with many achievements in research and study, dynamic, creative and having various meaningful activities toward the homeland.

At the event, the participants enjoyed special art performances and traditional dishes of Vietnam. This is an opportunity for RoK and international students to experience and deeply learn about the culture, country and people of Vietnam.

The organizing board also displayed many pictures themed on the homeland’s sea and islands, in order to affirm Vietnam’s sovereignty over Truong Sa and Hoang Sa archipelagoes./.
