The Ambassador affirmed that the Party and State have always paid attention to the policy for overseas Vietnamese, including those in Canada.

He emphasized that the visit also aimed to listen to their thoughts, aspirations, sentiments, opinions and precious experiences for promoting Vietnam-Canada bilateral relations and developing the homeland.

According to him, the overseas Vietnamese community in Canada has good advantages for development because most of them have a stable life and have integrated into the local life; younger generations have a development future; the Government of Canada has good policies for foreigners.

On this occasion, the Ambassador reviewed the situation in the country and the orientation of developing the Vietnam-Canada relations in the future, especially in cooperation in education, economic, trade and healthcare, saying that  the Vietnamese Embassy in Ottawa and Vietnam’s Consulate General in Vancouver will always be bridges between overseas Vietnamese and the homeland.

During the first meeting with the newly-appointed Ambassador, many Vietnamese people in Vancouver frankly addressed issues of great concern such as investment procedures into Vietnam, marriage guarantee and nationality. Their ideas were thoroughly explained by Ambassador Nguyen Duc Hoa and Vietnamese Consul General in Vancouver Pham Manh Hai.

The two Vietnamese officials received sincere comments relating to administrative procedures, guidelines of the Party and policies of the state for overseas Vietnamese.

During the visit, the Ambassador also visited typical overseas Vietnamese businesses in Vancouver, such as Champ's Mushrooms and HenLong supermarket.

Champ's Mushrooms is the largest export mushroom growing company in the West and the third largest exporter in Canada built by overseas Vietnamese family Tony Vu for decades.

He also visited HenLong supermarket - one of the largest supermarkets selling Asian products in Vancouver, importing many items from Vietnam such as rice, frozen seafood, vegetables, coffee and dry goods./.
