Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba offers flowers at President Ho Chi Minh’s statue

On the occasion of 50 years of implementing President Ho Chi Minh’s testament, the Party Committee of the Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba offered flowers at President Ho Chi Minh’s statue in the capital La Habana and showed its determination to carry out his testament.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Nguyen Trung Thanh emphasized the political and historical values and immortality of President Ho Chi Minh’s testament, as well as of his whole life and cause.

On behalf of the overseas Vietnamese community in Cuba, the ambassador reaffirmed the commitment of studying and following Uncle Ho’s moral example and implementing his testament by practical actions, contributing to the development of Vietnam - Cuba traditional relations.

The event was also attended by members from the Cuba-Vietnam Friendship Association and representatives of the local people's community.

“We are proud to have President Ho Chi Minh’s statue here, the great leader of the people of Vietnam. Our friendship branch with Vietnam gathers members from all ages and from all social organizations. Children from our branch even sing several Vietnamese songs,” said the Head of the people's community of Magalys Hernández Street.    

The event is one of various activities launched and organized by the Party Committee of the Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba since May to mark the 129th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh and 50 years of implementation of his testament. These activities include organization of conferences, seminars with students and youth, meetings, photo exhibitions and organization of contests to learn about the history and art gala./.
