Vietnamese Embassy in Indonesia congratulates Laos on traditional New Year

Lao friends welcomed the Vietnamese delegation with garlands of flowers, blessings and a “water spraying” ritual.

Lao Ambassador to Indonesia Phavanh Nuanthasing thanked his guests for their visit and wishes, bringing luck and joy to the Lao New Year 2560 on the Buddhist calendar.

He also lauded the long-standing friendship between the two countries, and hoped that the two embassies in Indonesia would further deepen the bilateral ties.

Ambassador Anh Tuan wished Lao people, under the leadership of Party General Secretary and President Bounnhang Vorachit, to continue to develop Laos into a prosperous country. He sent the best wishes to Ambassador Phavanh and Lao staff working in Jakarta and their families, for a happy and prosperous New Year.

The Ambassador expects that the diplomatic staff of the two countries in Jakarta would continue to do their best to cultivate the Vietnam - Laos friendship.

The two sides have joined the “thread tightening” ritual, a traditional practice of Laos to pray for luck, health and success, and enjoyed traditional foods and music performance of Vietnam and Laos./.
