The Vietnamese Embassy in Mongolia on March 8th organized an exchange program on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of International Women’s Day (March 8th, 1910 - March 8th, 2020).

Addressing the event, Ambassador Doan Thi Huong reviewed the great contributions of Vietnamese women in the history of building and protecting the nation and affirmed the role of women in the cause of innovation and socio-economic development of the country today.

She also congratulated and encouraged all female staff of the Vietnamese representative agencies, spouses and female Vietnamese students in Mongolia and desired that they would always try to improve their knowledge and professionalism to fulfill their task.

On this occasion, the Ambassador also sent best wishes to Vietnamese women living and working in Mongolia.

Ms. Huong emphasized that International Women’s Day this year takes place in the context of Vietnam having many great political events: 90 years since the establishment of the Vietnamese Women’s Union, 110 years of International Women’s Day, and 1980 years since the Hai Ba Trung uprising. Specially, for diplomatic sector, 2020 is a full significant and honoured year because Vietnam undertakes its role as ASEAN chair and non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2020-2021 period.

“Female staff of the embassy have confirmed their role and contribution to implement political task and professional work of the embassy, contributing to building and developing the country and enhancing the Vietnam - Mongolia traditional friendship. In addition, they have also actively participated in emulation movements organized by the embassy,” said Ambassador Huong.  

Representing the women participating in the ceremony, Ms. T. Javzandulam, a staff member of the Vietnamese Embassy in Mongolia, expressed her pleasure and thanked the ambassador for always paying attention to and creating conditions for female staff to join movements and fulfill their assigned tasks.

During the exchange, the participants enjoyed dishes and art programs of Vietnam./.
