Vietnamese Embassy in Mozambique marks Vietnamese Women’s Day

The Vietnamese Embassy and the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Mozambique organized a ceremony to mark the 86th anniversary of the Vietnamese Women’s Day (October 20th) in Maputo on October 15th.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Mozambique Nguyen Van Trung appreciated the role of the female members in the Vietnamese community in Mozambique.

On this occasion, the Ambassador also shared the current worries of overseas Vietnamese people and Mozambican friends before increasing violence and conflicts in some localities. The Ambassador promptly encouraged the spirit of the overseas Vietnamese people in the current difficult context in Mozambique.

The Vietnamese Embassy had also sent letters to congratulate and encourage Vietnamese women working in remote areas of 11 provinces and cities across Mozambique.

Earlier, the Embassy had also implemented a variety of activities in order to communicate and promote the tradition of Vietnamese women to the Mozambican Women’s Union and local female staff who are working for Vietnam’s Viettel Group in Maputo.

Also at the ceremony, Mr. Ta Quang Thiep, Secretary General of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Mozambique, reviewed the glorious tradition of the Vietnamese Women's Union, and praised the valuable virtues and good qualities of Vietnamese women in the struggle for national liberation in the past and in times of peace, building the country today.

He also said that in spite of being not many, the female members of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Mozambique are truly the core of the community, having significant contributions in community cohesion to build a strong union./.
