The Algerian filmmakers and reporters who were honoured include four members of Lotus Film Production, including executive director Mohamed Zakari Digeur, producer Samir Lezzoum, cameraman Abdehamid Aktouf, and sound expert Djamal Bouhafs; along with journalist Ait Mahieddine Yazid from state broadcaster Algeria ENTV and reporter Bilal Lerari from El Hayat, one of the private TV channels with the largest audience.
At the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Algeria Pham Quoc Tru highly appreciated the contributions of the filmmakers and journalists in providing information and improving images and understanding of the Algerian public about Vietnam and the bilateral relations. He also wished that the filmmakers and journalists would continue supporting the embassy in communications work in the future.
On behalf of the filmmakers and journalists, producer Samir Lezzoum thanked the embassy and related agencies of Vietnam for creating favourable conditions for them to fulfill their work and expressed readiness to closely cooperate with the embassy on upcoming work.
Early this year, Lotus Film Production cooperated with the Vietnamese embassy and related agencies to make a documentary film entitled “Vietnam, precious gem of Asia”, which was screened on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2nd).
The film, which was highly appreciated by local opinion and diplomatic corps, has both French and Arabian versions and will be screened on several national and private television channels in Algeria.
The film crew has prepared a dossier to submit the documentary film to regional and international film festivals.
Journalist Yazid expressed his impression about Vietnam’s achievements during the innovation process, which he said, inspired him to write remarks for the film.
Reporter Lerari, actively wrote a lot of news and reportages about activities of the Vietnamese Embassy in Algeria as well as relations between the two nations./.
