Vietnamese folklore impresses in Romania

The World Folklore Festival 2017 took place on July 27th – 31st in Bistrita, Northern Romania, with the participation of representatives from India, Singapore, Indonesia, Turkey, France, Ukraine, Vietnam, Greece, Italy, Serbia and the host country Romania.

Vietnam joined the festival with the participation of 21 performers and musicians from Au Co Artistry Troupe under the Vietnam National Music, Song and Dance Theatre.

The festival aimed to introduce the unique national cultures of Asian and European countries through dance, music and lyrics. The Vietnamese delegation brings unique dances and traditional musical performances of the Kinh, Thai, Hmong and Tay Nguyen ethnic groups.

The highlight of Vietnam’s musical performance is the T'Rung solo piece, with a special introduction of the monochord, which is found only in Vietnam.

The Vietnamese delegation’s performance was highly appreciated by international friends.

Speaking at the "Vietnam Night" held on July 29th, Mayor of Bistrita city Ovidiu Cretu emphasized that Vietnam shined in the sky of Bistrita city. Bistrita TV conducted live broadcast interviews with Vietnamese artists and introduced the Vietnamese monochord./.
