Vietnamese in Central Czech Republic make efforts to integrate and look toward the homeland

The Overseas Vietnamese Branch in Mlada Boleslav city in the Central Czech Republic recently organized the 2nd Congress for the 2019- 2022 period.

Mr. Le Chi Thanh, Head of the branch, said that since it was established four years ago, the branch is attracting more and more members. All the members have been always united, supported each other to have stable life and business, abide by the local law and contribute to the development of the city.

Since it has representation in the ethnic minority committee of the city since 2017, the branch has organized and participated in many cultural exchange activities with local people to enhance the friendship and mutual understanding among minority groups. Particularly, the Vietnamese community there is considered one of the outstanding integrated communities of the city.

In addition, the branch always maintains community activities to preserve the traditional culture and look toward the national origin on occasion of Lunar New Year Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and Vietnamese Women’s Day.

In the following tenure, Mr. Thanh said that the branch would continue to mobilize the overseas Vietnamese to further support each other in life, business and study as well as organize more meetings and exchanges to show more coherence with the local community. 

Speaking at the congress, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Ho Minh Tuan highly appreciated the active results the branch has achieved over the past time, and asked the branch to implement the action program in the coming time, focusing on practical activities with the overseas Vietnamese’ life. 

He also encouraged the overseas Vietnamese to abide by the local laws as well as preserve and develop the traditional culture of the nation, including Vietnamese language in the community.

Ms. Alena Hnizdova, representative of the ethnic minority committee in Mlada Boleslav city, said that the committee always supports and creates the best conditions for the Vietnamese community to integrate deeper into the locality, as well as promote their special traditional cultural features to local people.

The congress elected the new executive board, including 25 people and Le Chi Thanh was re-elected as Chairman for the 2019-2022 period./.
