Vietnamese people in Leipzig welcome Spring 2017

Taking place in the main area of the Leipzig Exhibition Centre, the Spring Festival 2017 was part of the Spring Fair of the city, attracting around 250,000 visitors.

The Spring Festival 2017 is considered a cultural exchange opportunity, expressing the national identity and the diversity of Overseas Vietnamese Associations in the process of development and integration in Germany. Associations brought a lot of special art performances imbued with Vietnam’s traditional culture, and a traditional long dress performance.

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany hoped that the overseas Vietnamese community in Leipzig and all over Germany would contribute to promoting friendly relations and stronger cooperation between Vietnam and Germany, building the prosperous Vietnamese community in Germany.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Germany awarded certificates of merit to seven groups and individuals in Leipzig for making great contributions to the community’s activities in 2016.

Head of Leipzig city Albrecht appreciated the role and contribution of the Vietnamese community in Leipzig and showed her impression on the art program at the event.

Leipzig is one of Germany’s localities attaching with Vietnamese people there for many generations. Not only creating conditions for Vietnamese people to study, work and live, the city also has many programs and cooperation projects with Vietnam's localities, especially in the fields of healthcare, education and environment./.
