Vietnamese people in Malaysia celebrate Lunar New Year of Dog

A program was organized in Johor to celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Dog by the Liaison Committee of the Overseas Vietnamese Community in Johor state and the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia on January 28th.

Mr. Nguyen Si Tuyen, Head of the Liaison Committee of the Overseas Vietnamese Community in Johor state, said that Johor is among the localities with the largest number of overseas Vietnamese living and working in Malaysia.

Over the past time, the liaison committee has made efforts in activities to become a bridge for overseas Vietnamese there.

Some Vietnamese businesses in Johor also joined hands to support activities of the liaison committee and the community.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Bui Khanh Long, representative from the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia, highly appreciated the effort of the Liaison Committee in organization of the program for overseas Vietnamese in the state.

He said that in the coming time, the embassy and the liaison committee will organize such exchanges and meetings more regularly to help overseas Vietnamese have more opportunities to exchange and increase solidarity within the community.

At the meeting, the participants enjoyed art programs and quizzes, and singing songs praising Vietnam./.
