Vietnamese Ambassador to Mexico Le Linh Lan reviewed the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh, a shining example of patriotism, clear revolutionary ethics and great encouragement for generations of Vietnamese. She required staff of the embassy and representative agencies besides the embassy to continue to study Ho Chi Minh's thought and morality, in order to complete their assigned tasks.
On the same day, the Vietnamese Embassy in Mexico and the Faculty of Economics, National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), marked the 127th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, the 27th anniversary of UNESCO's recognition of President Ho Chi Minh as National Liberation Hero, World Cultural Celebrity, and 42 years of the Vietnam - Mexico diplomatic relations.
The two sides opened a photo and book exhibition on Vietnam and Uncle Ho, which will remain open May 19th-25th.
Speaking at the historic lecture hall named Ho Chi Minh of the Faculty of Economics, Ambassador Le Linh Lan emphasized the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh for the Vietnamese people and progressive mankind. He dedicated his entire life to the cause of the national liberation of Vietnam and contributed to the common struggle of the peoples in the world for peace, national independence and democracy and social progress.
Before leaving, President Ho Chi Minh left the testament with his firm belief in the final victory of the Vietnamese people in the struggle for liberation of the South, and unification of the country.
On this occasion, the Ambassador expressed her deep gratitude to generations of Mexican students who have studied at Ho Chi Minh lecture hall, marched to show solidarity with Vietnam, and participated in anti-war movements in Vietnam in the 1960-1970s.
She also shared with students and lecturers about the potential and prospects of the Vietnam-Mexico relationship; reviewed the 42 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, highlighting historic milestones and dialogue mechanisms, important bilateral cooperation on politics, diplomacy, economy, trade and investment, culture-education established by the two sides; emphasized the good cooperation and mutual support at international organizations and multilateral forums such as the United Nations, Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC); and confirmed that the presence of Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto at the APEC Summit 2017 hosted by Vietnam will mark a milestone in the history of the relations between the two countries, contributing to tightening the ties between the two countries in both bilateral and multilateral aspects.
The Ambassador believed that the good friendship and traditional cooperation between Vietnam and Mexico would continue to be strengthened for the benefit of the peoples, for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the two regions and in the world.
At the event, the Embassy also screened a documentary film introducing the country and people of Vietnam to Mexican friends./.
