Vietnamese people in Mozambique organize football tournament to mark National Day

A football tournament was organized by the Vietnamese Embassy and the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Mozambique to mark the 72nd anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, in the capital Maputo between August 19th - 20th.

The tournament was attended by four teams, including Movitel Joint Venture under the Vietnam Military-run Telecommunications Group, Vietnamese entrepreneurs and community members, the Mozambican Higher Institute of Defence Studies (ISEDEF), and the Maputo police.

is is the third consecutive year the Vietnamese community in Mozambique has organized the tournament to strengthening the friendship and solidarity between the peoples of the two countries, as well as promoting exchanges and connections, contributing to building a strong, united Vietnamese community.

Currently, there are nearly 300 Vietnamese people living and working in almost all provinces and cities across Mozambique. Most are employees Movitel Joint Venture. The rest are entrepreneurs or freelance workers.

From the beginning of 2017, local armed conflicts in some localities have been suspended and opened the prospects for peace in Mozambique, more and more Vietnamese businesses are interested in this potential market have sent their employees to the country to survey and set up business establishments.

In this context, activities to promote exchanges and connections among the community held by the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Mozambique are very meaningful./.
