Vietnamese Physicians Association established in Cambodia

The Vietnamese Physicians Association under the General Association of Vietnamese Cambodians (GAVC) in Cambodia was founded on the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of the Vietnam Doctors’ Day (February 27th) to gather Vietnamese physicians in the country.

The Provisional Executive Committee of the Vietnamese Physicians Association in Cambodia was assigned by the Standing Committee of GAVC, including seven doctors from state-owned and private hospitals in Cambodia.

Doctor Hoang Hoa, Director of Clinic 215 Phnom Penh, is the Head of the Provisional Executive Committee.

The Provisional Executive Committee is responsible for building the content, operation orientation of the Vietnamese Physicians Association and organizing effective implementation in the provisional period; communication, mobilization, development and admission of new members for 3-6 months, and completion of organization work to organize a congress to elect the official Executive Committee.

Speaking after the debut, Head of the Provisional Executive Committee, Doctor Hoang Hoa said that on Vietnam Doctor's Day every year, a team of Vietnamese physicians in Cambodia often held meetings to review the traditional day of the sector, share experiences, difficulties and advantages in the process of working as a physician in Cambodia. However, the scale of the organization was only spontaneous and small. It hasn’t promoted the united power to contribute to help the community.

She also said that the Provisional Executive Committee would try to quickly carry out activities of the association to really become a voluntary organization for the Vietnamese community in Cambodia.

Mr. Chau Van Chi, Head of GAVC, said that the Vietnamese Physicians Association in Cambodia not only connects Vietnamese physicians, but it is also voluntary organization for overseas Vietnamese in Cambodia, organized free communication on common healthcare; examination, vaccination and medicine distribution for overseas Vietnamese in difficult circumstances.

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Thach Du welcomed the establishment of the association and believed that the Provisional Executive Committee would soon carry out activities to serve and support the community, carrying out the traditional medical ethics of Vietnamese physicians and in accordance with the laws of the host country./.
