Vietnamese products attract visitors at ALFS charity fair in Japan

The 43rd charity fair of the Asia-Pacific Ladies Friendship Society (ALFS) organised in Tokyo, Japan, on April 10th and the Women’s Association of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan attended the event.

The event drew the participation of the Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono's spouse, wives of high-ranking Japanese officials and representatives of the ALFS.

The ALFS fair is to raise funds for international charities and disaster relief.

In the framework of the fair, the host country Japan, representatives from the embassies of the Asian – Pacific countries and charitable organizations exhibited and sold their unique handicrafts and food products.

The Vietnamese booth featured products of silk, lacquer, and embroidery artworks, as well as traditional cuisine, attracting a number of visitors.

In 2018, the ALFS transferred nearly JPY1.3 million (about VND300 million) to the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan for charitable activities.

As scheduled, the money this year will be used for the installation of water purification systems in elementary and high schools in districts of Hiep Duc, Bac Tra My and Nam Tra My in Quang Nam province./.
