Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Republic of Korea (RoK) Nguyen Vu Tu highly appreciated the efforts and achievements of the VSAK Executive Committee over the past decade. He believed that the Association would continue to promote its role to unite the overseas Vietnamese student community in RoK, as well as promote scientific research activities to make practical contributions to build and develop the country and promote the cooperation between the two nations.

At the ceremony, the delegates reviewed important milestones, typical activities of Vietnamese students in RoK. Not only organizing activities for Vietnamese students in RoK, VSAK has also focused on activities towards the homeland such as: raising funds to help domestic Vietnamese suffering from natural disasters; mobilizing contributions to the nation’s sea and islands; and organizing peaceful parades to protect peace in the East Sea.

Mr. Pham Hai Chien, Head of VSAK, said that since its establishment, the Executive Committee has always played a pivotal role in the association's activities and student movements, positively contributing to the development of the Vietnamese student movement as well as and the international student community in RoK. It is also a representative for voices, rights, obligations and responsibilities of the overseas Vietnamese student community there.

The VSAK aims to unite and lead students, and together with the students create activities and beautiful memories when studying abroad. The number of Vietnamese students studying in RoK has increased from 2,500 students in 2007 to over 10,000 students at the moment.

With its achievements, VSAK has become an outstanding overseas Vietnamese Student Association of the Vietnam National Union of Students, actively contributing to the development of the Vietnamese student movement in particular and the international student community in RoK in general./.
