More than 100 Vietnamese students from University of Palermo and other regions of Italy made the event a memorable experience and a cultural bridge between Vietnam and beautiful Island of Sicily and international friends as well. This was also an opportunity for Vietnamese students throughout Italy to exchange and cohere.

The event, including a football tournament among teams from universities, Vietnamese traditional cultural festival and gala night for talented youth and ASVI’s Got Talent, attracted a large number of Italian and international friends, and was highly appreciated by the local administration and the managing board of the University of Palermo.

Particularly, on May 6th, Mayor of Palermo city Leoluca Orlando, representative of University of Palermo and Vietnamese Ambassador Cao Chinh Thien attended the opening ceremony of the Vietnamese traditional cultural festival, which included a photo exhibition of the land and people of Vietnam; fashion show and introduction of traditional cuisine.

The ambassador stressed that the education cooperation between the two countries should be strengthened and each Vietnamese student in Italy should make efforts to become an “image ambassador” of Vietnam in Italy.

This is an annual event, which has become a healthy and useful playground for overseas Vietnamese students and created conditions for them to exchange and encourage each other in their life and studies./.
