Vietnamese students in Cambodia celebrate traditional Lunar New Year

Overseas Vietnamese in Cambodia organized an event to welcome the Lunar New Year of the Dog in Phnom Penh on January 13th.

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Vu Quang Minh thanked the Government and people of Cambodia for granting scholarships for Vietnamese students to study at the nation's leading Royal University of Phnom Penh. He also affirmed that generations of Vietnamese students graduating from the university have made contributions to Vietnam’s development and the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

In his speech, Cambodian Minister of Education, Youth and Sports Hang Chuon Naron confirmed his belief that the exchange students will not only foster the development of their countries, but also consolidate the bilateral traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation.

Mr. Le Trung Kien, Head of the overseas Vietnamese delegation in Cambodia, said that Vietnamese students continue to keep the leading position in study achievements in Cambodia. They always promote the solidarity, cultural identity and good tradition of the nation.

During the event, Vietnamese and Cambodian students performed special art items.

Currently, more than 100 Vietnamese students are studying at universities in Cambodia./.
