Overseas Vietnamese in Cambodia on January 13th organized an event to welcome the Lunar New Year of the Pig at the dormitory of the Royal University of Phnom Penh in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Trac Toan from the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia expressed his pleasure at the organization of the Lunar New Year Festival (Tet) every year of the overseas Vietnamese, and congratulated Vietnamese students on positive achievements in 2018. At the same time, he thanked Cambodia’s Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport and universities for creating favorable conditions and supporting Vietnamese students in the process of studying in the country.
He also advised overseas Vietnamese to effectively take advantage of their time to study and expand relations to well prepare for their future, contributing to building the country and friendly relations between the two countries.
On behalf of Cambodia’s Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, Ms. Mom Sochanna, Deputy Head of the Department of Culture and Scholarship Exchange, highly appreciated the efforts and contributions of Vietnamese students during their study in Cambodia.
Mr. Luong Thai Hung, Head of the Vietnamese Student Delegation in Cambodia, said that in the 2018 school year, Vietnamese students in Cambodia made efforts to study and gain many outstanding results, confirming Vietnamese students’ position at universities of the country.
He affirmed that in the new year the Vietnamese students will continue to promote the spirit of learning, boosting movement activities to contribute to protect and enhance the solidarity and friendship between youth of the two countries.
More than 100 Vietnamese students are studying in Cambodia. Over the past time, they have become a bridge to contribute to build, reinforce and develop the good friendship between youth and peoples of the two countries./.
