Vietnamese students in Canada celebrate Lunar New Year Festival

Overseas Vietnamese students in Toronto, Canada, organized a music program to welcome the Lunar New Year of the Dog (Tet) on February 19th.

The event attracted more than 300 Vietnamese and international students in Toronto city, Canada.

Minh Ha, Head of the Vietnamese Student Association of Centennial College and representative of the organizing board said that all profits of the program will be presented to Sick Kid, a hospital for children in Canada.

She also added that the program was a destination for overseas Vietnamese students, who can’t return the homeland, to welcome Tet and enjoy the holiday together. That was also an opportunity for overseas Vietnamese students to contribute to the community in Canada, where they study and live.

Xuan Huy, a student in Toronto, said that he was very happy to participate in the program. Moreover he felt happier when he knew that he is contributing part of the ticket cost to the local society./.
