This was the second time the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Ibaraki prefecture participated in the festival, which has been organized for over 30 years.

Cultural exchange and promotion have become important elements in the friendship between Vietnam and Japan.

According to Head of the Liaison Committee of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Ibaraki prefecture Cao Sy Luan, registering for the first time to participate in the festival in 2017, the organizing board welcomed and reserved for Vietnam a space to display and introduce culture and performance at the main stage.

This year, Vietnam’s kiosk attracted a large number of Japanese people and foreigners to visit and enjoy traditional dishes.

The festival saw over 200 kiosks, including folk games and traditional dishes of Japan and of many other countries such as China, the US, France, India and the Philippines.

The participation of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Ibaraki prefecture not only contributed to the Vietnam-Japan friendship on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations, but also introduced the Vietnamese culture to international friends in Tsukuba, considered a scientific city of Japan./.
